Introduction
The concepts of "Turtle and Phoenix" are of the most basic and important concepts in external form. They are certainly also the oldest in Feng Shui, thousands of years old and have been used throughout the ages especially by the San He - Three Harmonies tradition. Do you know the maxim of the Greek sophist philosopher Protagoras, "man is the measure of all things"? In Feng Shui we could consider something even more comprehensive, such as "Man is the measure and shape of all things". Thus, the energy of the houses is productive when it resembles the human form.
Facing and Sitting
Have we ever wondered where the concepts of facing and sitting come from? Are they merely aesthetic concepts or do they have a deeper reason for being? The theory of Chinese metaphysics indicates that we build houses with front and back because we also have a very different front and back (rear). So one of the first assessments made in a Feng Shui analysis is whether these two characteristics are well differentiated in a given home. If, when we arrive at the site, it is not possible to see immediately and clearly where the main and rear façade is, this may indicate problems in the house's Feng Shui. It can even invalidate calculations such as "Flying Stars - Fei Xing" based on this fundamental yin-yang dichotomy.
Turtle
The sitting position - back of the house (yin side) is a general rule, energetically a place of energy accumulation. For energy to accumulate, architecture must be more closed and the terrain topology must be higher. That is, there must be an elevation behind the house that we call Turtle. The accumulation of energy then serves as an energy support that supports the lives of the inhabitants, especially in the area of health, family life and personal power. If this rise does not exist, energy moves faster and therefore has less chance of accumulating to benefit the inhabitants. In the absence of a turtle, the most affected organs are the water, kidney, bladder and reproductive organs.
Phoenix
The facing position - front of the house (yang side), the main facade is usually the busiest front. The movement of qi - "energy" means more potential for it to enter and nourish the home. That is why the front must be "unimpeded", that is, there must be vital space ahead. In other words, the house must have a view. The Phoenix is the point where we focus when we enjoy "the view from the house". If in front of the house there is, for example, another building close by (ie across the street) we say that the phoenix is obstructed. Phoenix influences our ability to have a productive view of life, to know what we propose to do, to have fulfilling dreams and goals. If there is no noticeable point of focus on the horizon, the phoenix is said to be dispersed. When the phoenix is not suitable, the organ that suffers most is the heart.
Journey in Life
The binomial Tartaruga - Phoenix is fundamental then for our journey in life, our career. Making comparisons with the human body, when we are seated, the turtle is the support of the chair and the phoenix is what we see in front of us. Does your house have a good Turtle and / or a good Phoenix? There are always cures or improvements that can be done using Feng Shui techniques.
